About the Author:

I was born in a small town outside of Houston, TX called Baytown. My parents had moved there when they both were discharged from the U.S. Army. By then they already had my older sister. Then I came along. They decided to move to California while I was still a baby. So I was raised in and around California but always a southern girl in heart and soul.
I met my husband in High School when I was just a sophomore and he was a junior. We were just friends back then and even going on to get engage to other people. Then something happened before he went off the U.S. Army boot camp. We decided to get married. So one quick trip to Reno, Nevada, pushed by my Grandparents no less. They really liked him and thought he was the one for me.
He flew home for the holidays for the first time since going away, to see his family. I picked him up on a Friday and we were married on Saturday. Which just happened to be New Year’s Eve. He flew back to his Army base in New Jersey that Monday.
His first duty station was Fort Greeley, Alaska. I got to finally be with him in May of that year when I left all my family and friends to fly 3,000 miles into the wilderness to finally be with my husband. We spent 4 years up there in Alaska and loved it. Our son was born in Fairbanks 3 years after moving up there.
Then my husband was transferred to Fort Hood Texas to finish out the remaining time in the service of our great country.
So the Army packed us up, we packed everything we would need immediately into our Bronco, including baby, dog and bird and drove through Alaska, the Yukon Territory, Canada and the Western United States on our way to finally show the family our growing bundle of joy for a much needed 30 day leave. Then we drove the Southern states to our new home in Killeen Texas.
Well, that didn’t last long. Not being able to get housing on base, which we were accustomed to. We decided that I would fly home with our son, get a job and set up house, which I gladly did. My husband was honorably discharged a few months later and we were once again a family. We have not been apart since then.
We eventually moved to our home in the San Francisco Bay Area we have now. We were blessed with our daughter not long after moving here. Now we are in our 34th year of marriage. Our children have grown and either married or moved out on their own.
Later in life, due to the economic downturn, both my husband’s company and the one I was working at closed within 3 months of each other. So we found ourselves starting over in life. My husband dream was always to be a truck driver, why? I have no idea. So he and I went to trucking school, got our license and drove team all over this great country of ours for a few years. That is when I started writing again. I had written my whole life since I was a young teen, just for my own amusement. I never let anyone read it though. I felt it was to personal and didn’t want anyone to read it back then. Thanks to a cousin that twisted my arm, I finally agreed to publish Fears Revenge. So that’s how it all started.
First it was "Fears Revenge". Then "Return to Lily Cove". The cover of Return to Lily cove I took myself. It is a beautiful lily pond off the I-5 in Washington State. It inspired the name of the book and the main character. Then I released, "Gabrielle, lost" in August of (2015). The 4th and final book in the series called “Feathers in the Wind” was released in February of 2016.
Now that I am no longer a truck driver, my husband still is, I am back home in California taking care of my Mother with Alzheimer's. I continue to write, when I can, and currently have 4 books in the works, as well as a book on my website "Mika's Time" that I write in episodes rather than chapters. I absolutely love to cook and I will share recipes on my blog periodically.
After the passing of my beloved Grandfather in January of this year, my husband I decided to finally make the move from the Bay Area of California to our new home in Reno Nevada. We love the community and small town feel and friendliness of the people and enjoy watching the local wildlife. As we actually live on the outskirts of Reno. Looking forward to our first white Christmas since living in Alaska so many years ago.
You have probably read the shortened version of my bio on one of my books, so now you have the longer version.
