I don’t know about your part of this great big world of ours you live in, but this weekend in my little part of a little San Francisco bay area was, what I consider a, a nice weekend.
We had a steady rain. Not a storm or wind blowing everything around, but just a nice constant falling of rain. Perfect weather for me to write. I was hoping to make some progress on “Feathers in the Wind” this weekend.
I did sit down and write a whole chapter. Then realized it wouldn’t work. The timeline wasn’t right. So if we were in the day and age before computers and I was pecking away on a typewriter. I would be pulling pages upon pages out of the roller and the floor would be covered in wadded up unacceptable pages of nonsense. Since we are in the day and age of computer and laptop and iPads. I just have to hit Delete, Delete, Delete, Delete rather than, on top of everything else, risking a nasty papercut.
Now If I wasn’t to particular, I’m sure I could have already finished up the story of Catherine, but I’m not. I like the reader to believe in and enjoy reading my books. The whole idea of reading is to escape from your world into the world of another character. Feel the thrills, chills and steamy tense moments.
If I can make you, even for a few moments, forget about your own issues whether they be good or bad, and untangle the mystery and solve the story. That’s what makes a good story and makes me a happy writer.
So maybe one day soon this fog of writers block will lift, as it usually does, I will finish up this story. Then I can move onto another adventure I started a few months back called “City Girl”.
