Today I was thinking about where I really would like to see this next main character go on her journey. I know the ending and I already have the beginning, it's just the space in the middle. LOL
For you writers out there, what have you done to jump start your writing when you are at an indecision? I usually take an event or a scene from real life and build on it. In the case of "Return to Lily Cove" all it took was to drive by the pond full of lily pads to write the basis of the whole story. Gabrielle, in "Gabrielle, lost" was taking one character from my first novel and building on her past and focusing on her growth and where I wanted her to be.
Now Catherine, in this latest novel, has me a bit stumped at the moment. I can sense her personality, her thought process and values (hard to explain if your not a writer). I just need to figure out how to get her from point A to point Z to make the story happen.
Tomorrow, well tomorrow is another day and maybe tonight she will talk to me in my sleep and give me a clue as to her story.
