Today in Lynn's kitchen I wanted to make pizza. Now I know that I posted a really good thin crust pizza dough awhile back, but I wanted to try something new.
So the latest thing going all around Facebook and the rest of the internet is the Cauliflower Pizza Crust. Here is the recipe if you want to try it out for yourself or put your own twist on it.
Cauliflower Pizza Crust
1 Head of fresh Cauliflower
Italian Seasoning Mix
Salt & Pepper
Preheat oven to 400°F.
In a food processor, process cauliflower until finely chopped or you can grate the raw cauliflower in a bowl.
In a microwave-safe bowl, cook cauliflower for five minutes or until tender. Place cauliflower in a towel, and squeeze out excess water so it is completely dry.
In a bowl, mix egg and remaining ingredients to cauliflower until well-combined.
On a parchment-lined baking sheet, spread cauliflower dough out until it resembles a pizza round.
Bake for 40 minutes.
Top however you want and bake in a 450°F oven for 7 minutes or until cheese and toppings have baked.
Make 1 14" Pizza Crust
Now I topped mine with sauce and cheese (of course) pepperoni, sausage, mushroom, bell pepper, tomato black olives.
Well, The toppings were fantastic! But as for the crust, probably won't make it again. The flavor was alright but I prefer a thin crispy crust and this recipe just didn't do it for me.
Now if you have a similar recipe for a low calorie pizza crust, send it on over. I am willing to give it another whirl.
